Is it really judgemental? I just feel like she should have gotten past that stage by now. I do worry about her a bit, to be honest, and this is just symptomatic of a range of other issues.
I just feel guilty that I haven't been there for her more. It's hard being in a different state, and I'm terrible at keeping in touch with people long-distance. I'm just not the kind of person who picks up the phone and dials, unfortunately.

The bolded bit is the judgemental bit IMO. Different people do things differently.
I know women in their 50's who still do that attention seeking crap on facebook, it's a personality thing. Some grow out of it some don't.
