One of the all-time great ball magnets.

Put his hand up again and should not have to do it all at 30… kicked the goals when needed and was working hard in the last qtr.

If Pendles had been fit we would have knocked off bitchmond…

Father time appears to be catching up with him big time as he seems to be labouring hard when running and he no longer has sure hands below his knees because of his wrists.

Unfortunately a half hearted attempt to bend down to pick the ball up last week cost us a goal when Bell knocked him off the ball and poor disposal in the backline tonight cost us goals.

Having said that he is still in our best 22 and it will take a good player to pick him up regardless where he plays. Yes..I would play him in the forward line as well but to say play him there because his poor disposal won't hurt us..is not correct..as evidenced by Cloke and White time after time. Cloke's poor kicking knocked the stuffing out of us.

This is a very different Dane Swan to the one I say play against Richmond yesterday. His best may be behind him but he is class act.

I love Swanny but he lacks composure at times and just throws the ball on to the boot with little thought about where it's going.

^^^ yep, still a very important contributor to the team. Get's judged harshly because his best set such a high benchmark but still capable of taking a game by the scruff of the neck.

Too true.

If yesterday was Swanny's first game and was the first time we had seen him play, we'd all be pretty excited. He raised the bar so high at times that even a poor game from swan is worth a good game from average Joe.

Yesterday, Dane played a 30 or more disposal game for the 100th time. He is behind only Robert Harvey on the all-time list of such games.

Make that 101 after his 36 disposals against GCS.

How bad are his wrists!
He looks terrible trying to handball.
They look absolutely stuffed.
Amazing he is still playing.

I hope I can still get 36 disposals and singlehandedly stop the opposition's second-quarter burst in its tracks when my wrists are absolutely stuffed.

Make that 102, after 32 disposals, including 6 clearances and two goals against the Kangas.
