Dave, I would be careful saying such things—some people can find it very hurtful.
There are more people in the world than just males and females. Some choose to be that way, some don't. I'm guessing Conchita (if that's their name) may belong to the first category, or simply be a man who likes performing in drag. Eurovision's not really my thing, so I have no idea. Either way, all power to him (or her!).
(Really about time we followed Sweden's path and introduced a gender-neutral pronoun, but that's probably a topic for another thread...). _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Bump.
Brilliant!
Here we go again, this time hosted by the Austrians following Conchita's win last year.
Where else do you see acts from Moldova, Armenia, Latvia, Azerbaijan & Iceland on the one bill? And for the first time ever, Australia has an entry.
Australia in Eurovision...that makes no sense. But that is the point!
If you don't get Eurovision by now then you never will. Suspend your beliefs, prejuduces and good sense and get into it. Loads of Eurotrash fun. |

Year of the power ballad. Love it, it's like they all tried to do a version of a Bonnie Tyler video, lots of arm waving and throwing the head back with eyes closed, serious long notes and more long stares at the camera than an actor in a day time soap.
