Vic. thumps Tas. by 400 runs. Will host the final.

Ahmed took 5/35. 6 for the match and 40 for the qualifying games @ 26.25

Holland, Ahmed spin Vics into Shield final.

John Holland (6/41 & 2/27) and Fawad Ahmed (1/9 & 5/35) spun Tasmania out twice, cheaply (145 & 134) to qualify for, and probably host, the Sheffield Shield final.

Victoria batted strongly to run up 449 & 2/230 dec. - to win by 400 runs.

Peter Handscomb and Matt Wade scored centuries.while Chris Rogers (72 & 69) and Marcus Stoinis (51 & 62) batted well.

In the race for second place and the right to play Victoria in the final, WA is 1/250, chasing NSW''s 407. Both Cameron Bancroft and Michael Klinger are not out centurians. A first innings win would be enough for WA. NSW must win, outright.

The Klinger/Bancroft 324 run partnership is WA's best ever for the second wicket surpassing the 254 between Mike Veletta and Geoff Marsh against Queensland in Brisbane in 1985.

2/441 and first innings points. Klinger scored 161.

Bancroft 189*, Voges 73*.

No need to declare. WA has second place sealed.
