Carra in my credo people who repeat another poster's post by altering it without specifically indicating it's been altered are showing disrespect - all it takes is a superscript - or postcript saying 'altered for accuracy' or some such, it only takes a second and shows respect for the original poster's ownership of the post.

I hate people altering my posts without that.

Beams is just whinging about the heat, it takes a while to get used to it.

He has a massive ego and the killer instinct, its what made him a very good footballer.

Cant blame people for trying to get paid what they are worth. Its just that a lot of people don't get that opportunity. Im sorry to see him go but it does give someone else an opportunity, like he got, when he got a midfield position.

Party on the surface that sounds fine BUT Brisbane bears are NOT the closest franchise to his father's location and Beams deliberately closed any option of trading with anyone other than the bears.

That is holding a loaded shotgun to the clubs head and smacks of a fait accompli.

There can only be one sensible interpretation of such facts - he's a slimeball.

Just did the Cancer trip in southern Queensland with my darling brother ... Some treatment can only be got in Brisbane and not on the Gold Coast. That said, a trade with Gold Coast would have been attractive. I got a good look at some of their talent and liked the look of some of their players. Don't forget his bro was part of the come home factor, not to mention the $. Let's hope our pick 5 and young Crisp turn out to be more than adequate compensation. I think that the culture at Brisbane might be more to Daynes liking, ie meatheads.

Well anyway party he's old news and I'm hoping De Goo (5) will be an upgrade - perhaps he may even run to help out the defenders occasionally - who knows??!!

Tucked away in the final paragraph of a Jake Niall article about Ablett's new contract is this little gem:

"Brisbane recruit Dayne Beams will be among the highest-paid players in the competition next year, because his five-year contract with the Lions is frontloaded and will see him paid more than $1 million in the first year...."

I don't see how it's responsible team management to pay a player like Beams anything like that kind of money. He's a highly talented offensive player but tends to be a one way runner and his opponents often run off him and rack it up too.

Free agency has made the world go crazy (I know Beams was traded but it's the spectre of free agency that let it happen).

I'm with Neil and Frankie. Honestly, some people are just too eager to be offended.

I'm not eager to be offended. I just don't like blokes that act like Beams has.

I was treated like shit by a previous employer, but I don't get on social media and tell all my friends about it. I don't act like a vindictive twit. This bloke does.

Like you said "it's a free country" (an overused phrase if there every was one).

One of the reasons that the AFL should ban players receiving increased contracts when they want to break a contract.

I am more interested in the beams hitting my solar panels than the one residing in Brisbane and playing for that near bankrupt club that despite being gifted 3 premierships has still never turned a profit.
