Plenty of cheap unused land out here in the west, could build it next to Melbourne Ball park. Laverton station is a short walk away and the princess freeway would take you right to the door.

Do that and everyone on the Eastern side of the city won't attend games. I know I wouldn't travel any further than I currently do.

Poster on Bigfooty saying their are 2 sites being looked at

Quote:

They're looking at 2 sites in the Pies heartland Reservoir - JE Moore park across the road from Edwards lake and Donath reserve near the corner of Keon Pde and High St. For anyone thinking it's just posturing it's definitely going to happen.

Would love it to be true, but I actually can't see it happening. Still, we can only hope I guess. Cool

Didn't we sign a long term contract with the MCC to be the head tenant so they could finance the Ponsford Stand. Anyone know when that runs too?

Donath reserve was looked at many years ago as a potential site for a greyhound track, apparently the amount of rock underneath the turf meant it would be too costly to dig up and build it there. Apparently the vfl also had the same end result when they done tests on the site, then built waverly instead.

Put the stadium where the Yarra Bend Golf Course is at the moment. Piss off the pussies and bring in the pies. Just down the road from Vic park too.
Public transport would be an issue but arrangements can be made...

I want Vic Park re-developed and bought back of the council at all costs. If the neighbours complain, stiff bickies. Vic Park to hold 65,000 to 70,000.

If they had strippers on Friday nights and match days they'd make a fortune! I'd go every time
