if coverage of the vfl is discontinued by abc i really hope someone else picks it up. perhaps though, lack of coverage might be the making of the comp and drive more people to attend. i do wonder how many watch games on tv.
edit: there's a possibility of 7mate televising the games. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

It's pretty much a done deal that Eddie's company will be broadcasting the VFL and probably the WAFL next year. McGuire Media took the SANFL this year and seem to have done an okay job with it.
Apparently, some mooted timeslots are 12pm on Sundays and Monday night games out of Punt Road... |

Eddies company may sell the rights to Channel 7 to be shown on 7Mate, as suggested on KB's radio show with Phil Cleary. |

When Luke Darcy is doing the play-by-play, you may reconsider your enthusiasm for the Channel 7 era...
But then, we'll probably be going to most of our games in any event, so it doesn't really matter to diehards like us. |

It's good news even if I'm not fond of channel 7's commentary unless the likes of Phil Cleary end up joining channel 7.
Hopefully channel 7 airs more Collingwood games because ABC hardly showed any of our matches live. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Whatever happened to Peter Landy?
He just seemed to disappear after we entered the 21st century. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

Wikipedia research of Peter Landy says that his last commentary gig was indeed the Commonwealth Games in 2006 which were broadcasted on channel 9 at the time.
I just found his disappearance from the commentary circuit somewhat unusual considering how prominent he was in footy commentary from the 1970s right up to the late 1990s. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023

I think Peter Landy retired up to the Gold Coast, He's no spring chicken. |
