|
1st Test in Dubai. Oct 22-26. 06:00 GMT | 17:00 AEDT
Rogers and David Warner should open in Dubai - Warner suffered a groin injury in the final ODI but appears to have recovered - with Alex Doolan at No.3, followed by Clarke and Steven Smith.
Mitch Marsh is the likely No.6, then Brad Haddin, with Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle, O'Keefe and Lyon the probable attack. However, Rod Marsh insisted the selectors still had plenty of decisions to make.
If that's the XI to play, it would be debuts for both Marsh and O'Keefe.

Pakistan (possible): 1. Ahmed Shehzad, 2. Mohammad Hafeez, 3. Azhar Ali, 4. Younis Khan, 5. Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), 6. Asad Shafiq, 7. Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), 8. Zulfiqar Babar, 9. Mohammad Talha, 10. Yasir Shah, 11. Rahat Ali
Pitch and conditions.
The Dubai surface was handed over to Pakistani ground staff ahead of the limited-overs series, and the Twenty20 and ODI pitches were spinning and slow, respectively. Early glimpses of the Test pitch suggested a strip sporting very little grass. Temperatures are forecast to hover around 35C all match.
Stats and trivia.
This is the first Test match between Pakistan and Australia in Dubai.
Pakistan's only previous Test match meetings with Australia in the UAE were in October 2002, resulting in two innings victories for Australia at Sharjah. The first was over in two days, the second stretched into a fourth.
Australia last played twin spin in the third Test against the India at Mohali in 2013 _________________ Donny.

Dave Warner notched another Test 50 - that's 6 in succession in Tests for him. Australia 0/81. Warner 52*, Chris Rogers 23*.
Incidentally, 3 of those half centuries were turned into centuries: 115, 70, 66, 135, 145 and today's knock. He just went to 62* with a six. _________________ Donny.
