We need to get back Willis, Bowman and Aldon. That's just the outs for our LB's. Gutted we lost yesterday, not surprised though, but equally thrilled the team is 4 and 3 with all our injuries. _________________ A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated. |

The Rams completed both a fake punt play on offense on fourth down, and a fake punt reception when receiving the ball as well - something I'd never seen before, and still can't believe actually worked. |

It was pretty funny (unless, I suppose, you are a Seattle fan).
Remind me, bm, do you have a team you support?
For those wanting to know, Monday's free to air games are Ravens v Bengal, Colts v Steelers and Green Bay at New Orleans.
Also, the "filler" in the mid-morning schedule is a half-hour "miked up" Peyton Manning special. The promo points out rather unkindly that he has thrown more career touchdown passes than the Cleveland Browns have thrown since 1983.... |

Big "Thursday night" game to start in about an hour - San Diego at Denver, with the teams playing for control of the AFC West and, probably, early favouritism for the AFC championship. I'm tipping the Broncos - the Chargers did beat Seattle (but then, so did the Rams) but their other wins have been against the Bills, the Jets, the Jags and the Raiders, so they probably aren't as hot as their 5:2 record looks. That said, Rivers has been in good form and his numbers compare favourably with Manning's so far this season.
By contrast, Denver's only loss was in OT (to Seattle) but, along the way, they've beaten the Colts, the Chiefs and the Cards (both of whom beat San Diego), the Jets and, most impressively of all, the 49ers.
This week and next are very big for the Broncos - if they can take out San Diego and the Patriots, they should finish the regular season with between 13 and 15 wins (and I wouldn't rule out 16, on form so far). |

Broncos lead 14:7 at the half. Two td passes from Manning. Chargers looked like they had fought back to bring it level 7:7 at the half but then a 74 yard drive in 2m 35s put Denver back in front. |

And so the Broncos put the Chargers' challenge to bed, winning 35:21 with three tds in an 8 minute span from late in the second quarter to the middle of the third. The Broncos now have control of the AFC West and must be in pole position to make the Superbowl again from the AFC side. |

When I watch the Broncos I still see a team that's vulnerable to the same issues as last year, by that I mean Manning still relies to heavily on the short to intermediate passing he game, his long ball is almost non existent and when he does throw it the ball float through the air rather than being thrown with power.
The game against my 49ers really showed this because with both Bowman and Willis out that area behind the front line was being covered by backups and rookies, leaving the area vulnerable and Manning exploited this.
Manning relies on staying in the pocket no matter what and making his throws from there, if a team can squeeze him in the pocket or better yet flush him from the pocket he just doesn't have the mobility anymore to make those plays consistently.
Personally I think Mannings kryptonite is a 3 - 4 defense with a big front three that can control the line and outside LBs that can rush the edge, added to that you need the talent at the Mike and Jack position to be able to either fill the gaps or play the open field as required. Funnily enough both the Seahawks and the 49ers (when healthy) have such teams.
I know I'm ranting a bit but I'm tired and still at bloody work so I'm not fully focused. Hopefully the above makes some sense as I haven't bothered to proof read it _________________ A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated. |

No one, just enjoy watching the games especially the more old school NFL rivalries, in particular if there's a weather element as well. Having said that, I do have a soft spot for Green Bay because of their history and ownership, and the Eagles because their fans are nuts (though I wish they'd abandon those dark uniforms and go back to the more lurid green ones).

I think the schedule also indicates that 7Mate will have the Detroit - Atlanta game from Wembley, which is an early game. |

Whoa, steady on there BM don't be to hasty my 49ers have a deep, rich, successful history, our fans are pretty nuts too (take me example) and I'm pretty sure if you squint real hard you'll see some green in our uniform.
I mean you don't really want to support the Packers, I've heard from reliable sources wearing all that cheese on their heads makes them smell. _________________ A Collingwood supporter since the egg was inseminated. |

That's the stuff, not a fan of the indoor stadiums, and love it especially when it snows up north and it causes a bit of chaos.
Though I should add there's something about Cleveland's general suckiness that's also appealing - that and the fact they managed to get back into the league, which appeals to me as a South Melbourne Hellas fan. |

Is there a suggestion Wayne Harmes had a hand in that one? |

So, admit it, Joe wasn't really that good - he just got lucky. A couple of times.
Well, 4. |
