Bris first rounder or GCS gun. Otherwise, you're under contract, son.

Beams wants to go home for family reasons. Guess we can't blame Bucks for that.

So do we trade him this year whilst he is contracted or wait till next year when he is a free agent?

Next year we will probably get a pick after our fist round ( assuming they haven't scrapped the compensation pick).

This year do we try to get Brisbanes pick 4 plus a player?

Are you sure that he will be a free agent? Do not think he is old enough to be a free agent!

You are right. End of 2016 according to the AFL site. Guess that gives us more bargaining power then.

In before a 1000 essay ranting about Buckley.

Anyone know what the 'family reasons' are? Because word from the club up until now had been there was NO way that he was leaving. That's changed pretty quick, so I'd be interested to know why he wants out.

I think we need to move him on ASAP if he wants to go because if we're contending from 2016 on (and losing an A grade mid doesn't help THAT at all) then it's better to bring in a high draft pick kid now and get a year or two into him.

Unless there's someone comparable at Brisbane or the GCS who wants to come home to VIC, if that's the case then jump on that right now and forget Draft Picks.

First round pick plus a quality player.

^^Yes. First round pick alone is not enough.

I'd gladly take Bennell and a first rounder. Heck even a second rounder. Not sure he's going to be on offer though.

I am gutted...... Feel worse than when Thomas first said he wanted to go, and i loved him.

Beams for pick 4 and Sam Mayes. (Number 8 draft pick in 2012 from South Australia.

On trade pick 4 and Sam Mayes and third round pick to Adelaide for Dangerfield.

Effectively 2 top 10 picks and pick 48.

Offer him $6m over 6 years.

Glad someone has mentioned Mayes, very impressive.

As for Dayne, I can understand him wanting to be nearer his dad. Cancer is a horrible and unpredictable disease. More coin would help with treatment and care as well.

Pick 4 and Aish for Beams and pick 8....??

But does that then mean we cannot pick up Moore with our first live pick which would be a pick in the 20's or whatever???

Good deal for Brisbane. Garbage for us. We give Beams for Aish & upgrade 4 places in the draft.

But you are right we can't trade pick 8 unless no club below us bids on Moore.

Brisbane have nothing we want or need. This is going to be ugly.

They will need to trade up to pick 1. Daynes Beams is a ready made superstar and they will be low balling us the whole time. Especially as they are trying to get Ryder as well.

Being a qjueenslander i have been watching Aish very closely. One word...outstanding. Trust me Brisbane would not want to give him up. If not the other player i would contemplate is Bewick. So pick 4 Aish or Bewick for Beams...pull either of those off and we are in front.
