Not for me when the side will be totally bereft of Collingwood AFL talent.

I'm really only interested in the big show of Collingwood AFL and it's players.

What can I say, I'm a football snob.

What a strange way to think. Reckon not so much football snob, more celebrity glutton. A little disrespectful too of a Collingwood finals team. A shame you choose not to appreciate the high standard on offer. I'll be there - have enjoyed the quality football the VFL has provided this year without the marketing

Good thing you didn't Shane.

Were it not for the work of you and the Victoria Park Heritage Committee, we wouldn't be having this Vic Park final.

This is the first final in this competition at the ground since a VFA Grand Final in the mid-90s, from memory, isn't it...?

Yep, the last VFA Grand Final was held at Victoria Park in 1995 as was the 1994 VFA Grand Final.

All the finals matches that season were played at Victoria Park.
Springvale beat Sandy in the final 84-51

Great to see Finals being played at the Home of Footy.

Our VFL team have shown a fair amount of guts and determination this year, with some great victories. Let's be honest, the senior side won't be making the 8 so getting through week 1 of the finals is massive.

Do that and we re-load in week two with a heap of senior talent to come back.

Got my boys birthday party in the morning. Trying to convince him that as an added birthday present we should go to this game!

Should be a sensational atmosphere.

Go Pies.

Sounds excellent. Wish I could be there.

Has a Collingwood team ever played a final at Victoria Park before? Anyone know?

It was a spiteful encounter at Trevor Baker Beach Oval too 3rd.

They went the knuckle and niggle early and it worked.

We won't let them do that again.

Collingwood beat Fitzroy in the Reserve Grade Grand Final in 1940.
Other than that you have to go back to 1905.

The VFA did play all the 1994 and 1995 finals, including the last ever VFA Grand Final at Victoria Park. Scorps beat Zebs in '95.

If the Libs get back in and open plan Ports oval as suggested Vic Park might become a regular finals venue.

Well, now it's over to the VFL boys.

I urge everybody here, if you can, to get down to our spiritual home tomorrow and get behind these boys. There will be a lot of unfamiliar faces, but there will still be some of our senior-listed boys running around in Kennedy, Karnezis, Martin, Lynch, Yagmoor and Mooney.

That, and it's one more run around at Victoria Park in 2014.

What's not to like?

C'ARN THE PIES!!!
