Would be a brilliant effort coming off the back of a knee injury - IMO he'll be back by round 6... |

Does anyone know why we have the draft so late? I mean, a month earlier and our little prospects could have gone over to Arizona. As it is, by the time they fly over, find a place, go through the induction program... they get a bit of training, then it's Christmas break, then they get half a pre-season under their belts.
Is there a particular reason for having the draft so late in the year? |

I think its because it gives clubs the maximum time to assess its options, and gives potential players to nomminate themselves. |

Another factor may be the fact that most of them are completing VCE, so give them time to finish their VCE exams, have a break then start worrying about footy again
I think you will find the draft is after schoolies. I mean if they held it before VCE exams, the players wouldnt be available for their clubs anyway for a few weeks, so no point and the last thing kids need is to worry about football during their exams |

ES is corrent, the draft is scheduled so as to not interfere with studies for VCE exams. |
