Quote:
GLENORCHY has lit the fuse for its round 14 clash with Lauderdale by flying in former Collingwood premiership star Alan Didak for the vital game.

And Lauderdale coach Darren Winter has thrown plenty of fuel on the fire, labelling it a disruption so close to finals that could break down team unity.

Didak, a two-time All-Australian, retired last year but will do a number of club and community events during his stay in Hobart for the July 19 clash at KGV Oval, Magpies president John McCann said.

He played for Latrobe in the NTFL earlier this year – where he lasted only the first half due to a hamstring strain – and a handful of games in country Victoria, but has spent the past month in Brazil at the World Cup.

“We think the teams will determine who wins the game and Alan hopefully will contribute and put on a good spectacle for the spectators, but it just happened when it happened due to the process of getting people available,” McCann said yesterday.

It's going to be a big game for Glenorchy as they're fighting to stay in touch with the finals, add in Didak should be a good day.

Can we entice him back? Is he the decoy forward we need?

Yes, Glenorchy will be very happy with the gate that weekend, as will the TSL with their crowd figures being low.

Glenorchy have set up sponsorships and presidents luncheon to get the full money out of Didak so they'll be fine money wise.

I think he played a match with Marong FC recently and didn't do much at all but I guess it did pull in the crowds and I assume he was paid well for it!

Didak will also be doing an autograph session at Northgate just outside Coles from 2pm Friday.

No.

Wasn't any mention in any of the papers of any of his off field issues.

Didak will not cost the club a cent as all expenses and payments have been covered by sponsors and he will play solely as a small-forward.

Pies are hoping to have Didak again, and also getting Jonathan Brown.

Tarrant kicked 3 goals, and also set some up for the Bombers as they beat a Shackleton coached Burnie Dockers.

Didak had an okay game according to what I have read, kicked one goal as the Magpies are equal 2nd on the TSL ladder smashing the Bombers. In front of what was a good crowd something like 2,500.
