Post subject: What sort of players will we look at in the Rookie Draft? | |
|
I'm unsure how many picks we'll actually have in this draft, but I thought I'd ask the question for something a bit different this week.
What will we be looking for?
*Good state leage players?
*Delisted players from other AFL clubs?
*Youngsters that didnt get taken in the National?
*International rookie?
(I believe we've offered a rookie spot to Jake Kelly of he is looked over in the national). _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I wouldn't be surprised if we topped up with a state leaguer or two, plus Kelly as a F/S.
There was some mail about a month or so back that we were looking to put Chris Cain of Port Melbourne on as a rookie, ala Sam Dwyer. Would be a good pick up. _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

If we end up with two picks in the first two rounds of the national draft I reckon we wont go with our third or fourth round pick but take another rookie - maybe another mature ruckman incase Witts / Grundy / Huddo break down.
I think that would be smart, there are a few good ordinary ruckmen around who could fill a role.

Cam Wood? David Hille?
Seriously tho, where is Giles at? Is he up for grabs? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Mark Seaby?
On Giles, there were whispers that Adelaide might try trade for him, especially given that he is an SA boy. With Mumford coming in, Giles will either be their 2nd ruck resting forward or #1 ruck in the reserves.
I definitely wouldn't mind going after Giles. |

I was thinking more like Wayde Skipper as a mature rookie, but Giles would be interesting too (I read he was going to Adelaide too but not sure where).
