Perhaps we are in a state of transition. I'm not willing to write off 2008 but when I think of 2010 to 2015 it's impossible not to get excited.

I hadn't seen this thread before. A lot of interesting stuff, and reading it makes you realise that a lot of the "best case scenarios" have really worked out. Dawes and Reid making it, nailing the 2008 Draft etc. About the only things that have "gone wrong" since this thread are Marty Clarke going back to his homeland and Rusling getting injured.
Some of this is also pretty funny to read in hindsight. Tannin is usually a very insightful poster, but Brisbane as contenders? St Kilda who lost about 7 games over 2 years being "finished"? Not your proudest moment, I'm sure.

It had the fore-thought to declare the light at the end of the tunnel wasn't actually a train after all....
This thread belongs in the Poolroom.
In fact we should have a "Poolroom" forum on this site, for all the threads deemed classics.
