Hello again footy fans! We are rapidly emerging from the Winter break
and players are once again taking the field. While the ovals were quiet
during the cold season, much has taken place at the planning table.

Schedules:

MARFL teams will play a long season, starting in mid-May and continuing
to October. Games will be scheduled every couple weeks to prevent
players from having to travel long distance every weekend. A number of
cities will also host "everyone welcome" carnaval weekends during the
seasons. The open schedule will allow individual teams to schedule some
non-league matches against developing teams or participate in other
events. The final schedule will be posted on the league web page in a
coming update.

MARFL structure:

A number of teams are ready for play this season. These teams will
serve as the league core and their experience will be used to assist
other developing teams. As new teams come online the MARFL structure
will be divided into 4 regional divisions, shortening the distance
between frequent competitors.

USAFL

During the offseason, the necessary components of the USAFL have been
put in place. The goal of the USAFL is to unite present league efforts
across the country, and foster the growth of new teams and leagues. The
USAFL is dedicated to the non-profit growth of the sport. The USAFL is
also dedicated to increasing youth interest in the sport and to assist
in the creation of local youth programs within each league. The USAFL
also functions as the external represenative for its member leagues
regarding both football operations and sponsor relations. For member
leagues, the USAFL is the governing organization, and while it
cooperates with the umpires assocation, it acts independently, and with
no structural or policy ties to any other organization. Currently, the
USAFL is not operating on the internet, since most of its functions have
not required it, but the organization will establish an internet site in
the near future.

MARFL web site:

The MARFL web site will be updated in the near future. It the site is
missing any relevant links, or if visitors have any problems with
existing links please let us know.

In an effort to provide a useful site, we welcome comments and
suggestions for improvement from visitors. Dont hesitate to drop us a
line.

It is going to be an exciting year for footy in the US. During the year
we expect to see an increase in skill level among our players, continued
league growth and eventual dedicated ovals in many cities. If you have
any questions or comments about events stay turned to the web site
