With all the talk of knew coaches and recruiting we need lokk no further than Port Power.Two years ago Jack Cahill sent out the message to recruit players of a certain hieght weight and general athletic potential.Now he has potentially one of the most dangerous teams of the future,and still they recruit youngsters,working their way through a lesser competition than our reserves and they are succeeding.Why?Because they look to the future.They do not engage anyone,board,players or staff on the basis of their club past but on their talent and their ability to take that club to the top where they are obviously headed.Come on Collingwood move out of the suburban mentality.It is a national comp. and a highly professional comp.We at Collingwood need a cleanout with out any doubt.Our board should be sought as profesional executives with a proven record.Not on the criteria if they played 150 games in the 50's.Same applies to the coach.It will hurt but let us learn from the enemy before mediocrity at all levels engulfs us.Believe this, more Victorian clubs will fall the way of Fitzroy in the next decade as this competion expands and it will be the less successful stick in the mud clubs that will perish.Famous names will mean nothing...pre war premiership victory's a stale memory.
