A rather long discussion was held on 5DN radio last night about CFC with Neil Balme and Scotty Palmer. Palmer mentioned that the inner sanctum of Collingwood wanted to sack Shaw a couple of weeks ago but decided to keep him till the end of the season. The big tip from Palmer to take over is Swans reserves coach Damian Drum. He is on display soon as the Allies coach and will be coaching against Mathews in the interstate match in Brisbane. I understand Mathews is also waiting in the wings for a call from the Pies. Should be interesting in the next couple of months. The only lament I have for sacking Shaw is its too late and another season is gone. The bad news is we couls wrestle the wooden spoon off Carlton before all this is over. Other news is Buckley WILL NOT leave the Woods. All he has ever wanted is to play for us and won't go.
