Let's educate rather than put down...

Apostrophes are;

Used to shorten words by replacing letters.
eg.
do not - don't
should not - shouldn't
did not - didn't
over - o'er
rocking - rockin'
old - ol'

Used to show who owns something.
eg
the anger of Campbell - Campbell's anger,
the tail of the dog - the dog's tail
the success belonging to Collingwood - Collingwood's success
the toys of my brother - my brother's toys

The Apostrophe can come after the s if the person or thing ends with s.

eg. Chris' broom is right, not Chri's broom or Chris's broom
eg. "Four dogs' worth of fleas is right", not "Four dog's worth of fleas" or "...dogs's...".

Apostrophes do not get put in to show more than one of something

eg
"There were three dogs barking last night" is right, "There were three dog's barking last night" is wrong.

"Panadol helps a headache" is ok, "Panadol help's a headache" is not.

Apostrophes can be your friends :)
